A freelance writer, editor, photographer, and sometime actress, I grew up on the eastern end of Long Island and attended college at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts. Over the course of my years in Manhattan and in no particular order, I worked in film production, acted in the theater, waited tables, temped, fact-checked, reviewed movies, dogwalked, ran an editorial department, did improv comedy, copyedited, helped develop CD-ROMs before there was an Internet, and edited and wrote for magazines as varied as Town & Country and Mademoiselle.
